  1. The Hot Mix 17 CD-ROM is optimized for Netscape 3.0. Please make sure
  2. your browser has both Java and JavaScript enabled in order to take
  3. full advantage of the CD's multimedia capabilities.

  5. Instructions:
  6.  
  7.         Open up your browser of choice and point it to the index.html
  8. file in this directory. (for Netscape: File --> Open File in Browser)
  9.  
  10. Important Notes:
  11.  
  12.         The `Search' feature included on the Hot Mix 17 CD-ROM  will NOT
  13. work on systems other than SGI.
  14.  
  15.         Most of the Software included on this CD is intended to be run on
  16. the SGI platform and therefore will NOT work on systems other than SGI.
  17.  
  18.         All of the Games included on this CD are designed to run on the
  19. SGI platform  will NOT work on any other platform.
  20.  
  21.     You can turn your Java and JavaScript on and off in Netscape from
  22. (Network Preferences --> Languages panel)
  23.  
  24.     If you do not have a frames-capable browser, the functionality
  25. of the CD will be limited. Alternatively, you can visit Hot Mix
  26. on the Web at http://www.sgi.com/Products/HotMix.
  27.  
  28.     Hot Mix 17 utilizes a 900 by 800 pixel area, for the best results set
  29. your monitor for at least a 1024 x 768 display resolution.

  31.     If at any time you experience a loss of controls or an image breaks
  32. it may be necessary to reload that page. Please hold you shift key down
  33. and click on the reload button.

  36. Important notes for Mac Users: 
  37.  
  38.     When the CD is mounted for the first time it
  39. may come up with an error message. Click OK; This can be safely ignored.
  40. The system will then automatically start to rebuild the desktop on the CD.
  41. This happens only once. You can safely ignore and stop this process.
